Fermented and aged in 33% new wood, it has aromas of iodine and oyster shell, plenty of weight and mid-palate texture, focused acidity and a dusting of nutmeg and vanilla spice. Energetic and refreshing, with real vibrancy and length.

The lilting and refined if not particularly concentrated flavors possess a lovely sense of vibrancy, all wrapped in a solidly complex, sneaky long and refreshingly dry finale. This is really quite attractive and is also fashioned in an understated style.

It has a clean, precise bouquet with more mineralité compared to other crus from the domaine, the terroir coming through nicely. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and gentle grip. A little honeyed toward the finish, with touches of melon and praline on the aftertaste. -- Neal Martin
