(90-93 points) This is aromatically quite similar to the Vergers though on the palate there is a bit more refinement to the sleek, delineated and intense and lightly mineral-driven flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract, all wrapped in a tension filled and overtly saline finish. Lovely.

A creamy white featuring plenty of toast and spice flavors from new oak to complement its peach, lemon chiffon and mineral notes. Support comes from bright acidity, and the finish is long and toasty. Drink now through 2028. 525 cases made, 100 cases imported. — BS

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru comes across quite closed on the nose. It is well defined but very tight, just a touch of reduction that bottle age should address. The palate is well balanced with a sappy, saline entry. Good intensity here, fresh and citrusy with orange rind notes surfacing towards the finish. Very fine. Give it another couple of years however. -- Neal Martin
