Vinous, April 2020

Very pale red. Clean and precise aromas and flavors of sour red berries, violet and minerals. Rich and suave for a 2018 Rosso di Montalcino, with fine tannins and balance on the long delicately herbal finish. This lovely...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2020

Talenti's easy and approachable 2018 Rosso di Montalcino shows Sangiovese purity with a fresh, mid-weight approach. This is a well-priced category of red wine from Tuscany that shows all the right characteristics—acidity...

Wine Enthusiast, May 2020

Red berry, star anise and menthol aromas mingle together on this savory red. It's full bodied but accessible, doling out ripe black cherry, plum and licorice alongside rounded tannins. Drink now through 2022. KERIN O’KEEFE

The Talenti Winery is situated in the south of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle. The winery was established in 1980 by Pierluigi Talenti who had fallen in love with the fascinating property and grounds, and decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.

The winery now owns a total of 40 hectares, about 21 of which are vineyards. Sixteen of the hectares are Sangiovese. The remaining five hectares hold a mix of varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet. The vines grow in a rocky soil of medium density at an altitude of about 650 to 400 feet.

Since 1999, the winery has been managed by Pierluigi’s grandson Riccardo Talenti who continues his family’s work with the same dedication and passion of the past years. Experience and thorough research of new technologies combined with a healthy respect for tradition allowed the winery to reach the high levels of quality it enjoys today.
