The maturation will continue for 18 months in cask. There are two barrels that are just beginning to reveal their depth and complexity – initially somewhat closed, they open up on the palate to reveal great wellsprings of ripe black cherry fruit and concentration. The tannins are firm, even a bit strict, but there is enough density and extract to carry the phenolic charge. (Drink between 2024-2039)

The sleek, markedly intense and beautifully delineated imposingly scaled flavors brim with both minerality and a refreshing salinity that builds on the overtly austere, compact and very serious finale. Once again, more depth is needed but here too better complexity will almost surely develop. Note that my suggested initial drinking window also reflects the large format bottling.
