From a 3.5ha vineyard at 400m elevation in the Tuscan hills. Clear burst of fragrant raspberry and redcurrant fruits, with aromatics that curls upwards alongside cold ash and liquorice root, sweet yet smoky raspberry puree on the finish, a trace of heat brings things to a more abrupt finish than ideal, and a touch of butterscotch shows the oak influence. There is juice as it opens up, giving a mouthwatering finish. Aged in 700l oak casks for 12 months, going into 2,500 litre oak vats then cement tanks before bottling. First time for a full September release, although a limited number of bottles were released through the Place last winter.
