(JS 99-100 points) Incredible, young Sauternes with so much spicy, dried-mushroom, dust and powdered-earth character on the nose and palate, Full-bodied with a medium-sweet palate and a finish that is endless. Apricots, dried lemons and peaches. Caramel. Great balance. Greatest modern vintage?

(VN 96-98 points) The 2021 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the wines of the year in Sauternes. Creamy and beautifully resonant in the glass, it offers up a compelling mélange of pineapple, mint, ginger, orange confit, chamomile, passionfruit and floral-infused honey. The 2021 is exotic and wonderfully deep, yet not at all heavy. It's too bad Sauternes is such an out of favor category, as great wines like this don't get much attention. That's a shame, because Lafaurie-Peyraguey is truly magnificent in 2021. Tasted two times. -- Antonio Galloni

(JD 95-97 points) I loved the 2021 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, which has freshness as well as richness. Honeyed grapefruit, peach, marmalade, and some exotic floral notes all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with perfectly integrated acidity and a great finish. This stunning Sauternes will offer loads of pleasure over the coming two decades.

Rich, intense, concentrated, sweet, racy, and lively, this has everything you want in a delicious sweet treat! Packed with honey coated yellow, and orange tropical fruits, lemon curd, vanilla, mango, and candied nuts from start to finish, the wine is zesty fresh, as well as sweet, and energetic. But it is going to be close to impossible to find, because production was decimated, with only 500 cases produced! Drink from 2025-2050.

Crisp green apple, lemon, elderflower, this could pass for a dry white wine on the nose - super expressive. Lively on the palate, fresh and upfront with such an ease of drinking. It's a gentle style in that the weight, texture, acidity and sweetness are all soft and calm not too excessive or overt. It's very charming in a subtle quiet way with hints of orange, almond, hazelnut but also a salinity underneath giving an added nuance that some of the others don't have.
