Burghound, June 2014

Note that this is a re-review as the sample bottle reviewed in Issue 53 proved problematic. A cool, pure and restrained nose of citrus, green apple and soft yeast nuances serves as an elegant introduction to the equally...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2018

The NV Cuvée No. 736 Dégorgement Tardif Extra-Brut is based on the 2008 vintage and was disgorged in November 2016, after spending 88 months on the second lees. The intensely yellow colored wine offers a rich, intense and...

Wine Enthusiast, December 2014

With just the right amount of bottle aging, this almost bone-dry Champagne is tight, steely while also hinting at the beginnings of toastiness. It is also full of crisp apple, lemon and pink grapefruit fruitiness, well...

Wine Spectator, October 2013

Fresh and slightly austere in style, yet gains flesh from hints of biscuit and almond paste, complemented by persimmon, candied lemon zest and currant notes. Offers a juicy finish, with a hint of smoke. Disgorged October...

Jacquesson is a champagne house with land holdings in two main areas - the Grande Vallee de la Marne (Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers) and the Cote des Blancs (Avize and Oiry). 80% of their grapes are estate, the rest coming from neighbors located in the same Crus. Traditional growing techniques and manual harvesting is practiced. Vinification is carried out in oak casks to allow the wine to breathe. Fermentation usually lasts for three to four months.

In addition to four single vineyard wines, Champagne Jacquesson, produces the Cuvee 700 range- blended wine coming from their three Grand Crus and two Premier Crus holdings. There is also a Cuvee 700 Degorgement Tardif which is aged for nine years before release.

Jacquesson Brut Cuvee 736 is a non-vintage wine made up of about 53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier. The wine is aged at least 36 months on the lees. It rests a further four months at the winery after disgorgement.
