Champagne Billecart-Salmon is an independent and family-owned champagne house situated in the charming village of Mareuil-sur-Ay in the heart of Champagne. It was founded in 1818 after the marriage of Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon.

Since then, for almost 200 years, every member of the Billecart family has continued to stand by their oath of giving priority to quality and striving for excellence. Today, the 6th generation is represented by Francois and Antoine Roland-Billecart, who lead this independent house with the support of their father, Jean Roland-Billecart. The firm owns 74 acres of its own vines and purchases grapes from growers comprising another 346 acres. Ninety percent of the fruit for Billecart comes from 40 crus within a 20-mile radius of Epernay.

The Billecart portfolio includes the Brut Reserve, Brut Rose, Extra Brut, Demi-Sec, Brut Sous Bois, Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart, and the ultimate expression for the House, the vintage Le Clos Saint Hilaire, a blanc de noirs Champagne sourced from a tiny plot planted in 1964.

The winery employs sustainable viticulture practices, without the use of pesticides and herbicides, and the wines are aged in oak in Billecart's limestone cellars.

The production secrets and the vinification method of this cuvee go back to the origins of the House of Billecart-Salmon and have been handed down for seven generations. The Brut Rose is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir vinified as red wine.

Its pale and bright pink color is adorned with warm glints of gold, and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse. This cuvee unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Its special method of vinification gives this cuvee a light, elegant flavor, followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry. This rose champagne is an ideal partner as an aperitif and can also accompany a dish of wild salmon or sushi. For dessert, it will add a sublime touch to red fruit flavors.

The 9998 Billecart-Salmon Rosé is a captivating Champagne that exudes elegance and finesse. With its attractive salmon color and delicate rose hue, this wine is a visual delight that sets the stage for a remarkable tasting experience.

On the nose, the aromas of dried strawberries and lemons intertwine with hints of flowers, creating a bouquet that is both enticing and alluring. As you take your first sip, you will be greeted by a full-bodied wine with a tight tension that is brought about by the fine phenolics running through the palate.

The flavor profile of this Champagne is a harmonious blend of white pepper, peaches, and sliced green strawberries, complemented by notes of candied lemons. The well-honed acidity dances on the palate, creating a mouthwatering sensation that is both refreshing and invigorating.

Crafted from a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier, the 9998 Billecart-Salmon Rosé showcases the artistry and expertise of the renowned producer. The addition of 6% still red wine and 40% reserve wines adds depth and complexity to the blend, resulting in a wine that is layered and multi-dimensional.

With a medium to full-bodied texture, this Champagne envelops the palate with its seamless and charming character. The lively and fine-boned profile is beautifully balanced, highlighting the delicate range of flavors, including nectarine, white cherry, slivered almond, and pickled ginger.

The 9998 Billecart-Salmon Rosé is a wine that is ready to be enjoyed now. However, it also has the potential to age gracefully, allowing its flavors to evolve and develop further complexity. Whether you choose to savor it today or cellar it for a few more years, this Champagne is sure to leave a lasting impression.
