This clearly has older stocks in it as there those wonderfully complex aromas of brioche, yeast and citrus with a background nuance of apple cider. There is equally good complexity to the utterly delicious flavors that retain a lovely sense of energy as the supporting mousse is firm but not so much as to detract from the depth of the dry but not austere finish. If there is a nit, and it’s really just a nit, this is not a Champagne of finesse but it’s rare to find this kind of complexity in anything south of $100 the bottle. Highly recommended for those enjoy aged, but very importantly, not overtly oxidative aromas and flavors. now+

A minerally undertow and flavors of spiced apple black cherry biscuit and grapefruit zest mix in this firm Champagne. Fine texture helps to balance and carry the racy acidity. Drink now through 2018. 70 cases imported. -AN

Pungent high-pitched aromas of grapefruit quinine and crushed stone with a suave floral quality in the background. Intense and tightly coiled with distinct energy to the citrus and chalky mineral flavors. Shows a sneaky sweetness to the fleshy mid-palate. Finishes with palate-saturating nuances of lemon pith quince pear and crushed stone.--Josh Raynolds
