The new release of Krug Rosé is as blend of fifty-nine percent pinot noir, thirty-three percent chardonnay, eight percent pinot meunier and spent six years aging on the lees prior to disgorgement. This release is primarily base year 2006, but of course, includes a myriad of reserve wines. The cuvée offers up a brilliant and majestically understated nose of peach, tangerine, fraises du bois, exotic spice tones, rye toast, caraway seed, a beautifully complex base of soil tones and a topnote of dried rose petals. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully complex, with lovely concentration at the core, refined mousse, crisp acids, seamless balance and stunning length and grip on the unrepentantly elegant and dancing finish. Breathtaking balance and grace. 2014-2035+.

Great complexity and depth, really elegant, assertive and deep. Long and even, superb depth through the finish. Great wine. Drink young and precocious. Krug ID 313042 - Nick Stock

That means the wine is not just the sum of its delicious red berry fruits. It's also the way the wine is rounded out filled with secondary flavors toast and almonds and a taut minerality. The aftertaste is taut dry seamless complex. R.V.

A highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of blood orange, redcurrant and gingerbread, plus spicy oak and floral nuances. Juicy, dense and spicy on the palate, with a smoky mineral quality lifting and sharpening the sappy citrus fruit and red berry flavors. Shows noteworthy intensity on the finish, which leaves notes of orange zest, candied rose and toasted notes behind. This Champagne's balance of power and vivacity is pretty impressive. -- Josh Raynolds

Medium rosé hue. A cool, restrained and highly complex nose that is not especially fruity displays a moderate yeast character along with slightly exotic aromas of mandarin orange and Asian tea, all wrapped in an enveloping array of beguiling rose petal scents. There is very good richness with a relatively firm supporting mousse that adds to the impression of richness to the superbly complex and highly textured flavors, indeed one could aptly describe this as more wine that Champagne. As such this is indeed a sumptuous Krug rosé that is difficult to resist already though it should reward extended keeping if desired. As I noted in the original 750 ml review, that while I am not always wowed by the Krug Rosé, this latest incarnation in magnum is strikingly good. 2020+

The NV Brut Rose is awesome in the way it combines elegance finesse and power. There is superb material in the density of fruit along with perfumed aromatics and silky chalky tannins that frame the long finish. It's all here in this sublime sensual wine but readers should note that the same caveats apply as with the Grand Cuvee above. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011. -Antonio Galloni
