Halliday Wine Companion, November 2020

One of my favourite champagne houses. This entry point has one-third each of pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay from 30 crus, 25% reserve wines, spending 4 years on tirage. It has a flowery bouquet, terrific...

Decanter, October 2020

One of the great signatures of the region, its calligraphy flowing with elegance, panache and balance, the last reflected in the equal proportions of the three great varieties of Champagne. A flamboyant straw gold lustre...

jamessuckling.com, July 2023

Fresh Amalfi lemons, pear skins, apples, rhubarb and hints of anise on the nose. Excellent depth and flavor concentration here, with a medium body and creamy bubbles. Fruit and spice deliciously integrated. Drink now.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2021

The current release of Pol Roger's NV Brut Réserve is quite dramatic, bursting with aromas of mandarin oil, honeycomb, elderflower, fresh bread and musky peach. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's generous...

The Wine Independent, November 2023

An equal parts blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV 75% of which comes from the 2018 vintage and 25% of reserve wines. This is the House signature cuvée accounting for around 80% of...

Wine Enthusiast, December 2022

This is the nonvintage cuvée from this producer. It is in a rich style, with a high proportion of Pinot Noir, very much the house style. This bottling is fresh and hinting at maturity. Drink now. Roger Voss

Wine Spectator, November 2023

An expressive Champagne, with a pure beam of ripe black currant fruit enlivened by vivacious acidity. Harmonious and satiny in texture, with accents of star anise, pickled ginger, toast and preserved lemon echoing on the...

jebdunnuck.com, November 2023

Equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier, the NV Champagne Reserve Brut has the 2019 vintage as its base, with 25% reserve wine. It pours a bright silver straw hue and is fresh on opening, with a floral perfume of...

Pol Roger is one of the oldest and most-distinguished luxury Champagne firms. Based in the heart of Epernay, it was established in 1849 and remains one of the few family-owned, grande-marquee Champagne houses. Five generations have remained loyal to the firm’s essential values of excellence and independence, ensuring that each wine is treated as an impeccable ambassador to their 160 years of history.

Pol Roger has carved out one of the most flattering reputations in the select circle of the leading Champagne brands. A personal favorite of Sir Winston Churchill (who has the firm’s top cuvee named after him), Pol Roger champagne has also been the British Royal Family’s choice over the years.

The house grows more than half its grapes on 89 estate hectares and sources the rest from select growers. Their cellars extend below the Avenue de Champagne for over seven kilometers on two levels. The deeper cellar maintains a lower temperature for the wine to develop finer bubbles.

The Pol Roger portfolio includes a vintage brut, a non-vintage brut, a brut nature, a demi sec, a vintage rose, a blanc de blancs and the Sir Winston Churchill prestige cuvee.

All the know-how of Pol Roger is revealed in its ability to reproduce each year a blend which is consistent in style and in quality. Elegant and refined, the cuvee Brut Reserve is the Champagne of all occasions.

The Brut Reserve is a blend in equal parts of the three Champenois grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from 30 different crus. 25% reserve wines are used to produce this cuvee. Pinot Noir, bringing structure, body and power, is mainly produced from some of the best crus of the Montagne de Reims. Pinot Meunier, ensuring freshness, roundness and fruitiness, is issued from several crus in the Vallee de la Marne and Epernay areas. Chardonnay, adding its aromatic complexity, finesse, elegance and lightness, comes from Epernay and some of the best crus of the Cote des Blancs.

After four years aging in the cellars, the style combines complexity, balance and distinction.
