The 2013 Contrada P is a red wine from Etna that promises long-term drinking appeal. The P stands for Porcaria and this vineyard consistently gives Andrea Franchetti some of his best results. This expression shows heightened fruit intensity with articulate aromas of wild berry and black currant, followed by balsam herb and grilled rosemary. As you should expect, those volcanic tones of ash and crushed stone also play a big role in forming the aromatic complexity of this wine. - Monica Larner
