This is really incredible with orange peel, dried pineapple and flan. Exotic. Full body, round and savory. Crazy character at the finish of cooked pineapple and tart tartine. Gorgeous; can't believe it.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, February 1997

The profoundly rich 1990 Dom Perignon is a creamy-textured, full styled offering that loses none of its elegance in spite of its flavor authority. It will improve for 5-10 years, and appears capable of surpassing the...

This is a wine that I know extremely well from 750 ml and it's one that is beginning to tire though I hasten to point out that it's still enjoyable and just beginning to show signs of fatigue. However there are no such...

A moderate greeny/gold hue with a mousse, languid rather than lively. The nose is certainly developing a smorgasbord of secondary aromas: hay bales, cut grass, a touch of clear honey and lanolin. The palate is well...

Possibly the world’s most recognized and iconic Champagne, Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon is always a vintage-dated wine comprised of the classic varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Elegant and graceful with excellent aging potential, it is produced only in those harvest years that the Chef de Cave declares to be of exceptional quality.

Dom. Pierre Perignon, revered as the spiritual “Father of Champagne”, was a 17th century Benedictine Monk and cellar master at Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers. He had a singular mission: to create the best wine in the world. To that mission, he dedicated 47 years of his life to invent and perfect the techniques to create a wine whose reputation knows no equal. His life-long work acquired a reputation for excellence which spread rapidly throughout the region, including the favor of the Royal Court during the reign of King Louis XIV.

Today, Richard Geoffroy, Chef de Cave and Creator of Dom Perignon Vintages, perpetuates the spirit of Dom. Pierre Perignon. The wine is produced by Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the largest luxury brand group in the world.

The 1990 Moet Chandon Dom Perignon is a Champagne blend that has garnered high praise from several wine critics. This vintage is noted for its richness and full-bodied style while maintaining elegance. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it an impressive score of 96, describing it as a "creamy-textured, full styled offering" that could surpass previous notable vintages like 1985 and 1982. Parker emphasized the exceptional quality of the 1990 vintage, advising, "The message—buy them now!"

James Suckling was particularly enthusiastic, rating the wine at 99 and highlighting its "incredible" nature with notes of "orange peel, dried pineapple and flan." He appreciated the full body and exotic character, concluding with, "Gorgeous; can't believe it."

Neal Martin's Wine Journal provided a slightly more tempered view with a score of 93. He noted a "moderate greeny/gold hue" and a nose developing complex secondary aromas such as hay bales, cut grass, and clear honey. While finding it elegant and harmonious, Martin mentioned the wine's lower acidity, suggesting it is currently drinking well.

Burghound shared insights into the wine's age and condition, scoring it at 95. He observed that the magnum format remains "magnificently fresh" with mature aromas and a "firm mousse" that showcases the texture of a well-aged Dom Perignon.

Jeff Leve from The Wine Cellar Insider gave the wine a score of 94, appreciating its "toast, honey, nuts and sweet citrus aromas" along with a "ripe, clean, creamy" finish.

Overall, the 1990 Moet Chandon Dom Perignon is a highly regarded Champagne, praised for its depth, vibrancy, and complex flavors. It is a vintage that has stood the test of time and continues to impress both critics and enthusiasts alike.
