The 1998 Shiraz Brookmans Vineyard (900 cases) is a Hermitage-like wine. With a larger than life personality high extraction opaque purple color dense concentrated peppery cassis mineral and licorice-scented nose full body an unctuous texture and spectacular finish this superb effort can be drunk now as well as over the next 15-20 years. This immense super-concentrated muscular wine appears to mirror the personality and stature of proprietor/winemaker Roman Bratasiuk. Clarendon Hills produces some of my favorite Australian wines and readers looking for flavor personality and pleasure should seek out this limited production gem.
