1998 was a unique vintage: a cold season with a heat spike at the end leading to a cool harvest. This was a more youthful vintage with high acid giving the wine improved ability to age.In the glass the wine presents full rich golden hues that are high toned and bright. Fresh lemon and lime zest aromas burst forth followed by rich baked apples and light hazelnut. Lively acid on the front of the palate is followed by strong flavors of pear and nutmeg on the mid-palate. Spicy cedar comes in on the finish with hints of anise lilac and white flowers with a lively punch of nectarines and almonds.
