The color is a dark ruby and mahogany with a purple core. This is classic Pomerol with a high toned perfume of pungent loamy soil (there are elements of the Petrus's famous `blue-slate out-cropping' from Le Gay's vineyard that is next door) and black cherry and black plum fruit. Tertiary notes of leather crushed earth and pulverized rocks are complimented by sweet mocha chocolate and baking spices. On entry the palate shows red fruits with a pop of black cherry that fans out to a silky mid-palate. The tannins are well integrated supple and luxurious. This is a great example of well-cellared Pomerol that is perfect for drinking right now. (We are securing this parcel `ex-Chateau' - directly from the Chateau.)
