Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, January 2003

Combining remarkable elegance allied to considerable power and depth this is the finest wine from Troplong Mondot since the staggeringly great 1990. Its saturated purple color is followed by aromas of ink creme de cassis...

Vinous, September 2021

The 2000 Troplong Mondot is another vintage that I have not tasted for a long time. This includes some Cabernet Sauvignon that was north-facing and subsequently removed for the 2001. The youthful bouquet of black...

janeanson.com, June 2022

Deep ruby in colour, with juicy acidity that balances out the abundant sandalwood and cedar oak notes, although this is ever so slightly drying on the finish. Bitter chocolate, pencil lead, crushed rocks, black cherries...

Wine Spectator, March 2003

Lovely berry cherry and spice with hints of mineral. Full-bodied with fine tannins and a pretty mineral and berry aftertaste. A sexy and refined red. Best after 2009. 7080 cases made. –JS

Chateau Troplong-Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone and clay soils. Powerful and well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.

The grapes are hand-harvested, totally destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, moving to oak barrels for secondary malolactic fermentation. The wine is matured in oak barrels (75% new oak and 25% one-year old) for 12 to 24 months depending on the vintage. The average production of the grand vin is between 60,000 to 90,000 bottles.
