A blockbuster effort the 2003 Shiraz The Freedom is produced from some of the estate’s oldest dry farmed vineyards (some dating back to 1843). Aged two months in new French hogsheads and smaller barrels this is a full-throttle high velocity inky/purple-hued Shiraz boasting gorgeous aromas of creosote blackberry liqueur melted licorice tar and pepper. With a fabulous texture amazing richness as well as concentration and a long surprisingly refined and sophisticated finish it should drink well for 15+ years.
