The 2005 Shiraz “Greenock Block” is opaque purple-colored with aromas of pain grille, black pepper, scorched earth, blueberry compote, and blackberry liqueur. Intense and layered, this full-bodied effort packs a punch. There are gobs of fruit and plenty of tannin under the surface. This unsubtle but powerful wine can be cellared for several years and will drink well through 2020. -Jay Miller
