Black core with crimson rim the bouquet offers up an attractive and intense bouquet of smoky black cherries crème de cassis and mineral infused oak notes. The moderately intense flavors highlight beautiful ripe fruits that while light on its feet maintain a sense of freshness at the core of the palate. The bright fruit textures contribute to the long finish which is buttressed by the firm tannins that are typical of the 2006 vintage. This wine is ready to drink tonight or hold for another 3-10 years. Highly recommended for both.

A superb effort from this property's new American ownership the 2006 exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with aromas and flavors of creme de cassis spring flowers crushed rocks charcoal and background toast. Full-bodied rich and complete with a juicy mid-palate as well as sweet tannins it can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years.--Robert Parker
