Now mature, this wine is rich and stylish. As it matures, it has developed a ripe yeast and toast character along with a beautiful patina of intense spice, and minerality along with great complexity. The wine is fully ready, a great experience to drink now.

(92+) The 2006 Henriot Brut Millésimé is now drinking at its apogee and is showing as well as it has over the course of the two years that I have been following this vintage. The wine is a blend of fifty-five percent chardonnay and forty-five percent pinot noir and this most recent release spent eight years aging sur latte prior to its disgorgement. The dosage is between six and seven grams per liter. The wine is absolutely singing on both the nose and the palate at the present time, with the bouquet offering up a blend of apple, tangerine, lovely minerality, citrus zest, fresh-baked bread and a topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and complex, with a fine core, elegant mousse, lovely focus and grip and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. Just a lovely bottle for current drinking. (Drink between 2016-2030)

There is a mildly exotic character to the citrus, tangerine, pear and brioche-infused nose. There is excellent intensity in the context of the vintage with its concentrated and powerful flavors that are supported by an intense mousse, all wrapped in an impressively long and mouth coating finish that is moderately dry. This is a big example that is not particularly complex at present though the underlying material appears to be present such that more could develop and my score assumes that more will develop.
