Champagne Charles Heidsieck was founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, an entrepreneur and a visionary. He decided to concentrate on producing and aging wine, leaving the vineyards to the expertise of growers, and purchased forty-seven chalk cellars dating from the 11th century. This labyrinth of underground alcoves and galleries offered ideal conditions for aging and enhancing his wines.

Following his dream of a wider audience for his exceptional wines, Charles left for America in 1852 (at that time a market still untouched by the Champagne trade) and became an ambassador for Champagne and France. He won over the South, including wild Louisiana, and became known as “Champagne Charlie”.

Today, Charles Heidsieck is one of Champagne's premier houses, producing both vintage and non-vintage cuvees. Charles Heidsieck champagne is one of the most recognized by the profession, earning awards, gold medals and trophies over the years.

A masterpiece from the Cote des Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Millenaires is a delicate, distinctive bubbly, the result of more than 15 years of aging in Gallo-Roman chalk cellars.

It comes from a strict selection of no more than 4 grand crus and one premier cru, which grants a unique nobility, elegance and generosity to this wine. The rich bouquet offers up aromas of dried and candied fruits such as hazelnuts, almonds and dates. There are also heady notes of beeswax and nougat.

A voluptuous, velvety and yet delicate texture is characteristic of Blanc des Millenaires. Smooth and sensual, the wine reveals its generosity in notes of salty caramel and its mildness in a hint of almond milk, complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and cedar wood.

The 2007 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires is a truly exceptional Champagne that embodies elegance, precision, and complexity. This Blanc de Blancs is crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from five great villages in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, France. Its pale gold color shimmers invitingly, hinting at the splendors that lie within.

On the nose, this Champagne reveals a captivating bouquet of grapefruit, yuzu, citrus, and quince, layered with subtle notes of sourdough, flint-stone, toast, and honey. As it lingers in the glass, the aromatics become more pronounced, offering a sensory journey that is both enticing and alluring.

The palate of the 2007 Blanc des Millenaires is sleek and focused, showcasing the precise nature of this wine. Intense oyster-shell and candied-lemon flavors captivate the senses, while a crystalline purity and brightness create a lasting impression. The uplifting freshness of this Champagne adds to its youthful character, making it a perfect choice for immediate enjoyment or for aging in the cellar.

Renowned wine critics have praised the 2007 Blanc des Millenaires, with Decanter awarding it a score of 96 points, James Suckling giving it a score of 96 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rating it at 95+ points, Wine Spectator awarding it 94 points, Wine Enthusiast giving it an outstanding 97 points, and Jeb Dunnuck rating it at 94 points.

This Champagne is truly a masterpiece from Charles Heidsieck, showcasing the skill and vision of its winemakers. With its rich and indulgent character, combined with classical rigor and construction, the 2007 Blanc des Millenaires is a wine that is sure to impress even the most discerning of palates. Whether enjoyed now or laid down for further cellaring, this Champagne promises a remarkable drinking experience.
