The 2007 Poesia ‘Poesia’ is a stunning effort made by Bordeaux Winemaker extraordinaire Helene Garcin of Clos L’Eglise, Barde-Haut, Poesia fame. Made up of 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet from fruit sourced at an elevation of 3,500 feet with plantings at 80 years of age this beautiful blend is aged in 100% new French oak for an average age of 18 months. A rich deep red color with notes of blackberries, spices, and earth with a freshness that carries through the finish. Well integrated tannin balance the depth of fruit with baked spices, freshly ground coffee beans, and a long mineral driven finish that seems to keep going and going. Drinking gorgeously right now and should continue to do so for another 10-15 years.
