Smith-Madrone's 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon remains dark in hue at 17 years after the vintage, but it does show a hint of bricking at the rim. The nose is marked by cassis, earth and slightly mushroomy notes, while the palate remains firmly tannic, finishing long. I suspect the fruit will fade before the tannins, so I suggest drinking this over the next several years. - Joe Czerwinski
