Very intense wine, packed with dark tannins, solid and powerful. It is leavened with great perfumes, while the overall effect is dark, brooding and concentrated.

The debut vintage under Jonathan Maltus the 2008 offers sweet black cherry black currant licorice and graphite characteristics in a layered deep wine. Building incrementally on the palate it exhibits impressive purity richness and length. Acids are there but the wine is forward supple and ideal for drinking now and over the next 10-12 years.

Blackberry cassis bitter chocolate and espresso on the nose with cabernet franc notes of violet and licorice. Juicy high-toned and vibrant with strong mineral energy to the dark berry and floral flavors. Ripe but dry wine with a lovely light touch. Finishes with broad fine-grained tannins and excellent length. Impressive. This is the first vintage for this new Saint-Emilion wine from Jonathan Maltus
