James Halliday, February 2012

Vivid deep crimson; restrained and understated, the bouquet offers a tantalising glimpse of red and black fruits, cigar box and a little briary complexity; the palate is finely detailed, and while elegant, contains its...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2016

The medium garnet colored 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Art Series shows evolving notes of dried mulberries, potpourri, exotic spices and cloves. With good concentration and superb persistence on the palate, this is a...

Wine Spectator, May 2012

This smooth, broad red shows a welcome mineral note weaving through the cherry and spice flavors, lingering effectively on the generous finish. Best from 2014 through 2018. – HS

Leeuwin Estate is a family-owned Australian winery and one of the five founding wineries in the now famous Margaret River district of Western Australia. Formerly a cattle ranch, the property was converted to vineyards by Denis and Tricia Horgan upon the advice of legendary Napa Valley winemaker Robert Mondavi when he visited Australia and saw the estate’s potential as being ideal for the production of premium wines.

The estate enjoyed its first commercial vintage in 1979 and was quickly thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1980 "Art Series" Chardonnay. Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. The estate releases wines under the Art Series, Prelude Vineyards and Siblings labels.

Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award winning restaurant, cellar door and art gallery. The estate is renowned for staging spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world.
