If Domaine de Chevalier tastes like the essence of Pessac merlot cabernet sauvignon finds its best representation at this tasting with Château de Fieuzal. With cabernet sauvignon comprising half the blend for the 2009 vintage (the remainder is 40% merlot 6% cabernet franc and 4% petite verdot) de Fieuzal is a pure wine. Faint aromas of fresh mushrooms along with spice box and pencil shavings give way to a fully textured palate with loads of blue fruits. Medium-bodied on the palate the acidity here gives this wine astounding length on the finish. Still taut at this early stage in bottle I'd enjoy this from 2015-2030+.

A terrific classic Graves with notes of subtle smoke black raspberries black currants graphite and unsmoked cigar tobacco this full-bodied deep concentrated de Fieuzal is far more generous and deep than most vintages of the past. There is also a wonderful freshness and length to this somewhat oversized de Fieuzal while it still maintains its elegance and class. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. 92+

Dark and winey with gorgeous flavors of mulled plum black currant preserves and roasted fig laced with maduro tobacco graphite and charcoal notes. The long finish features muscle and cut. Best from 2013 through 2021. 9800 cases made.
