From one of the most consistent (and celebrated) vineyard crus in the appellation, the 2010 Barolo Brunate flaunts a dry, slightly exotic quality with aromas of wet earth, button mushroom, tobacco, cured meat and Asian spice. Its appearance is bold and concentrated and the mouthfeel is similarly plush and velvety. The Brunate cru offers exceptionally structured Nebbiolo expression and this wine does a great job of underlining that fact. Drink: 2017-2028. - Monica Larner
