The 2010 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi is a big burly wine. There is plenty of fruit but also elements of gaminess blood and earthiness that give the wine much of its personality. To be fair many of those qualities are often found in Cargasacchi Pinots so to a large extent the wine is simply capturing the essence of its site. Still I don't find the purity of fruit or finesse of the best wines in this lineup. Readers who like the wilder side of Pinot will find more pleasure here than I do.
