Wine Spectator, March 2011
This sports some toasty punch with dark fig blueberry sauce and blackberry notes laced with ample toast. A hefty style but nicely rounded. -J.M.

One of the bigger, more tannic and powerful wines of the vintage, although it is only 14.4% alcohol, which puts it well below some of the blockbusters in the Cotes de Castillon, this wine exhibits wonderfully pure black raspberry, black cherry and graphite notes intermixed with hints of cedar and licorice, in a medium to full-bodied, slightly softer and less extracted style than usual. This is another sleeper of the vintage that should drink nicely for up to a decade. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

This has a lovely balance with dark fruits cherries and fresh acidity. Full and refined with lovely fruit. Lovely acidity.

Yields were just 25 hls/ha. Aged in 60% new French oak and 40% one-wine-old barrels. Intense herb soy and licorice nose indicates earth and concentration. A generous entry and mid-palate of blackberry injected with an abundance of sweet black licorice. Firm and linear tannins will make this a great early drinker for those who favor luscious fruit and spice. Drink 2013 to 2023. Tasted twice.
