Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, March 2011
Juicy with a muscular core of blackberry and fig. Lots of acidity is nicely buried on the smoke- and spice-filled finish where a hint of plum skin lends an ever-so-slightly chewy edge. Tasted non-blind. -J.M.

Pretty fruit with chocolate and cherry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body with fine tannins and fruity finish.

Tasted at the offices of Ets J-P Moueix, to be honest, I actually prefer the aromatics on the Lafleur-Gazin to the Belair-Monange tasted alongside. Tasted at the offices of Ets J-P Moueix, to be honest, I actually prefer the aromatics on the Lafleur-Gazin to the Belair-Monange tasted alongside. Here, I find the aromas more defined, showcasing some lovely pure dark cherry and plum-infused fruit that is neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm grip. This is quite a bold Lafleur-Gazin – quite masculine with a firm backbone and although it does not quite possess the persistency on the finish, I think this will mature very well.

Fragrant yet delicate aromas of pure black cherry fruit emerge on the nose. Not weighty or thick the medium-bodied palate cuts a sensuous profile that's a tad short. Textured grainy tannins comprise the wine's dry finish... Fragrant yet delicate aromas of pure black cherry fruit emerge on the nose. Not weighty or thick the medium-bodied palate cuts a sensuous profile that's a tad short. Textured grainy tannins comprise the wine's dry finish a touch rough compared with the classy fruit expression that starts the experience. A light and ethereal presence is the hallmark here but wait until 2019-2021 for things to get resolved.
