Here is a wine that works exceptionally well within the constraints imposed by a cool vintage and finds a fine sense of richness without trying to be bigger than its trim fruit allows. It fixes on green apples with sympathetic accents of toasted brioche, dried brush, stones and a faint touch of lees just off to the side, and, if never powerful, it is nicely mannered, and very well-balanced with the kind of structure and freshness to make aging a sure thing.
