The 2011 Barbaresco Maria Adelaide is a superb expression of Nebbiolo from one of the most talented winemaking families in Barbaresco. It presents a thick array of aromas that range from dark fruit and plum to spice, leather and toasted almond. The wine never feels heavy or over extracted. Indeed, the palate offers great coherency, elegance and grace. Barbaresco Maria Adelaide is aged in French barrique for 12 months and sees an additional 12 months in large oak casks.
