Ruby/crimson red. This is a strong showing for the vintage. Aromas of strawberry, cherry and wild game are complemented by notes of cedar and tilled earth. The palate is medium-bodied and has a rather seductive quality to it. The acidity glides over the palate and provides balance to the wines structured tannins. There is good concentration on the mid-palate leading into a round and delicious finish with bold flavors of cherry compote and spice. This is very enjoyable today but will be at its peak in another 3-5 years and hold easily for another 10-15.

A discreet touch of wood sets off fresh and bright red berry fruit and soft earth aromas. There is a seductive texture to the mouth coating, delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that possess good mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a balanced and solidly persistent finish. This moderately austere effort could be enjoyed young.
