The opulence of the vintage is evident upon opening, with ripe black cherry and plum aromas exploding from the glass while notes of vanilla, toast and freshly cut tobacco add complexity. The perfectly ripe black fruit carries through to the palate which is medium to full bodied in nature with a round, lush mouthfeel. Large, chewy tannins announce themselves on the finish indicating that things should bode well for some midterm cellaring. A pleasure to drink now given a couple of hours of air, this will be at its prime over the next 7-10 years.
