As one might reasonably expect there is markedly better richness and mid-palate concentration to the medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sap on the mouth coating finish. This is a relatively light example of the appellation but I like the flavor authority.

A bright transparent ruby core fading to a pale pink ruby. Still quite youthful and tight, with some air this Clos Vougeot opens up to reveal an intoxicating bouquet of pure cherry and pomegranate aromas enhanced by notes of wildflowers and spice. The palate has a lush texture and good balance driven by refreshing acidity and soft silky tannins on the finish. A very well done Grand Cru especially at this price.
