(BH90-93 points) There is a relatively discreet touch of wood discernable on the otherwise strongly reduced nose. There is a spicy inner mouth perfume to the robust and mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that exhibit good detail and power on the firm, dusty, mouth coating and overtly austere finish. (WA91-93 points) The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots, which contains around 15% whole cluster, has a complex bouquet with a mingling of black and red berry fruit with hints of undergrowth developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, those whole clusters lending a little more complexity on the mid-palate. This feels taut in the mouth, offering blackberry and bilberry fruit, touches of white pepper on a finish that is both focused and refined. This should age nicely for 10+ years. - Neal Martin
