During my tasting with Luc, I was also able to taste a few older vintages. Blueberries, graphite, loads of spice, and some forest floor notes give way to a full-bodied, elegant and seamless 2012 that’s on the early edge of its drink window.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Passionnément is a blend of the best lots in the cellar, in this year barrels from Andy Beckstoffer's To Kalon and Missouri Hopper vineyards. A powerful, resonant wine, the 2012 offers up generous dark cherry, plum, espresso, violet, grilled herb and camphor notes. It is a classic Morlet wine from this era.
