Pale straw in the glass, this 2012 release leads with a floral nose of white spring flowers, lemon curd and baked apples with underpinnings of brioche and a distinct minerality. On the palate the wine has a certain opulence to it and a pleasant viscosity that coats the mouth perfectly. The citrus and white fruit are front and center but the other elements are there too. This wine’s acidity is still very alive and makes for a crisp and refreshing white that will leave you wanting more. While it could go for another 5 years in the cellar, the reality is that it’s probably in its top drinking window right now making for a great immediate indulgence at a price that’s more than friendly. Pair with a cheese plate and good cheer.
