jamessuckling.com, November 2016

Bright and vivid with crushed raspberries and orange peel on the nose. Full body, tight and solid tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Pretty austerity. Better in 2019 when the tannins soften.

Wine Spectator, June 2017

Rose, strawberry, cherry and black pepper aromas and flavors are the highlights of this red. The unyielding structure provides support, surrounded by a lush texture. Fine length. Best from 2020 through 2033. 12,500 cases...

Decanter, August 2017

Appealing nose with red cherry and floral notes; a little less imposing on the palate but a charming, easy-going style, without the intensity and power of some. Drinking Window 2020 - 2027 - Bruno Besa, Michael Garner...

Wine Enthusiast, April 2017

Red berry, toast and black spice aromas lead the nose, accented by whiffs of espresso. The palate offers licorice, clove, dried cherry and vanilla notes, while a backbone of fine-grained tannins provides support.

Tenute Silvio Nardi is a Tuscan wine estate founded in 1950 by Silvio Nardi with his purchase of Casale del Bosco’s estate in Montalcino. The vineyards, located in a primarily hilly area that ranges from 460 to 1,575 feet above sea level, comprise 36 plots that extend to the east and west of Montalcino and are grouped into three estates.

From Casale del Bosco comes the precious cru Brunello Poggio Doria, an elegant, aristocratic interpretation of Sangiovese. Casale del Bosco is located on the west side, offering elegant and complex wines. Manachiara, exposed to the east, offers full bodied and powerful wines.

Sangiovese is the estate’s tradition and has been planted on almost all of the estate’s lands although, in 8 of the 80 hectares owned, different varieties can be found—from most traditional varieties like Colorino to international ones like Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot.

Emilia, Silvio Nardi’s youngest daughter, joined the business in 1985 and since 1990 has succeeded her father in the general management of the estate, and has undertaken a reorganization of the vineyards and the cellar.

Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino is a "Pure-Noble" Sangiovese wine. It is a wine for which blending translates to capturing different notes from different terroirs where softness arrives by gentle aging.

The wine has an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights. It has clean, sophisticated, intense and complex aromas, rich in evolved overtones, with hints of anise, ripe wild berries and a light touch of vanilla. Warm with supple tannins, this wine has great structure, good length and considerable aging capacity.
