A medium brick/red hue, the 2013 Brunello Di Montalcino is lifted in the glass with aromas of cranberries, bright red cherries, crushed roses, fresh herbs, and fresh earth, and it's showing wonderful depth and complexity considering it's over ten years old. The palate has a very fresh feel, and while it's starting to integrate nicely with its tannins, its overall structure is not fading, and it still has plenty of life ahead. This is exotic yet chilled with a red fruit character overlaid with fresh flowers on the nose. Smoky. Medium to full body, firm yet lightly polished. Lovely fruit and subtly refined. Layered. Extremely fine and pretty. Better in 2019.

I never have enough praise for the excellent work achieved at Uccelliera. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is another proud notch in Andrea Cortonesi's belt. This is a fine and elegant wine that wraps smoothly over the palate. It also has an immediate and accessible personality that means you don't need to wait too long to enjoy it.
