Deep ruby with a brilliant magenta rim. Springs forth from the glass with an array of aromas – fresh and brambly wild berries, black cherry and currant notes enhanced by baking spices, vanilla and an intriguing streak of minerality. This packs some serious concentration on the palate, though there’s a stunning degree of freshness that adds lift to the palate and provides terrific balance. Young and energetic at present, with firm yet sweet tannins, this is totally quaffable now with some air, but should truly blossom with some short term cellaring. Drink over the next 10+ years.
