This is a full-bodied, dense wine. A hint of austerity in the mineral texture gives the wine a steely core. Around this center, ripe fruit fills out the wine and gives apricots and generous fruitiness as well as a crisp, perfumed aftertaste. Drink from 2017.

This is also strikingly floral with additional breadth present in the form of lemon peel and mineral reduction hints though there is also noticeable sulfur so I would suggest decanting this. There is fine richness to the very round and seductively textured medium weight flavors that possess a refreshing, moderately complex and persistent finale. This lush and forward effort should drink well young. 2018+

The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, which comes from the center of the vineyard where there is a the highest proportion of pure Kimmeridgian clay, is matured in around 40% oak. It has a precise almond and hazelnut-tinged bouquet that gains vigor in the glass with each swirl. The palate is smooth and harmonious on the entry, the acidity nicely judged, generous and almost Chassagne-like in style. This is very well crafted, again, a Chablis that is generous and one that I can envisage garnering mass appeal. - Neal Martin
