Very dark, almost black at the core. On the nose very primary and almost like a barrel sample, but also boasts a nice minerality. Red raspberry, plum, cranberry, scorched earth, and baking spices. Once in the mouth this is full bodied and rich, reminiscent of a young Bordeaux. Honestly I was quite surprised by how layered and nuanced this is. Wow, this is a lot of Cabernet for the money and for under $20 a great weeknight wine. This will work well with a variety of grilled meats, braised beef or lamb. Give this plenty of air – but drink now and over the next 5 years.
