Fresh cranberry and black raspberry show on the nose of this bottling that also offers black-pepper sauce, savory soy and a touch of iodine. There's a tarry tension to the palate, but with tart dark cranberry and richer dark cherry flavors as well, mixing up the savory smoke with dense fruit.

Ripe black cherries, strawberries, forest floor and lots of spice emerge from the 2014 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard, which is medium-bodied, nicely textured, fresh and elegant. There’s a kick of tannin, yet ripe and polished. Give bottles a year or two and drink through 2024. - Jeb Dunnuck

Coincidence or otherwise this also reflects a minty hint that runs more toward menthol on the restrained and pretty nose that presents an assortment of both red and dark fruit elements along with hints of briar and tea. There is fine richness and volume to the round and velvety middle weight flavors that possess good power and punch on the dusty and borderline robust finale that also displays a hint of warmth. This is a big if not refined wine with plenty of character. 2022+
