A classic 2014, the downright sexy, hedonistic and ready to go 2014 Geyserville Proprietary Red Wine (60% Zinfandel, 24% Carignan, 12% Petite Sirah and 4% Mourvèdre) is medium to full-bodied, perfectly balanced and loaded with notions of blackberries, plums, brambly herbs, licorice and spice. It’s relatively soft and already approachable, but it will nevertheless keep through 2024. - Jeb Dunnuck

Dense ruby at the core. Liqueur-like aromas jump out of the glass along with ripe, primary fruit flavors of blueberry and black plum, all laced with a subtle note of dust. Sweet, youthful, and compact on the palate. There is a lot of volume here that will need a few years in bottle or a lengthy decant if you’re planning to drink now. The core of primary blue and black fruit carries layers of weight and complexity – an almost hibiscus floral quality, a subtle caramelized vein from the new oak, and dusty tannins. There is a lot going on here in one of CA’s flagship Zindandel-based field blends that will flesh out over the next few years.
