The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve was the first vintage made on the property and is a partially barrel fermented blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blended with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. This inky colored, concentrated, full-bodied 2014 offers terrific notes of cassis, currants, toasted spices and graphite. More broad and expansive than the 2013, yet not quite and pure or seamless, with present tannin, give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

Tasted from magnum, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has aged well. It's a big, potent wine with huge, intense fruit and copious new oak, just as it was in its youth. Blackberry, espresso, licorice and cloves build into the dense, palate-staining finish. Any remaining bottles are best enjoyed over the next handful of years, as the 2014 is peaking.
