Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of Chambolle-Musigny’s long-established names, a family estate with roots traced back to the 15th century and a benchmark reputation for Pinot Noir. While best known for its commanding stake in Musigny Grand Cru, the domaine’s village Chambolle-Musigny bottling offers a clear view of the house style in a less exalted (and typically more accessible) frame.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny is 100% Pinot Noir from estate holdings in the Chambolle-Musigny AOC, made as a dry red Burgundy. In 2015—a warm, generous Burgundy vintage—this wine leans a touch broader and more structured than the appellation stereotype, yet it still trades on perfume and mineral detail.

John Gilman (View From The Cellar) calls it “a lovely wine in the making,” highlighting a “bouquet [that] jumps from the glass” with “black cherries, raspberries, raw cocoa” and “a fine base of soil tones.” He describes a palate that is “deep, full-bodied and tangy,” finishing with “excellent backend mineral drive” and “fine length and grip,” and sums it up as “High class AC.” That’s an excellent review in context: a 90+ assessment for a village wine from a top cellar.

Allen Meadows (Burghound) also lands at a strong 90 points, praising a “very pretty and elegant nose” of “spice and floral elements” with “red and dark currant,” then “fine richness” and a “caressing mouthfeel,” with “subtle minerality” carrying through the “delicious and seductive finale.” He notes it is “a robust and very serious Chambolle villages… more powerful” in 2015.

Across critics, the message is consistent: this is not just pretty Chambolle. It’s a concentrated, mineral-driven village wine with real structure, built for confident mid-term cellaring, and likely to show its best after some time in bottle.
