jamessuckling.com, September 2020

The purity of fruit on the nose is perfection with cherries, crushed raspberries, mineral, pumice and citrus fruit. Dust, too. Full body. Powerful, chewy tannins. So long and muscular, yet polished and formed. Most...

Wine Enthusiast, May 2020

Rose, violet, camphor, wild berry and aromatic herb aromas are front and center in this gorgeous red. It's juicy, enveloping and delicious, doling out succulent black cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and baking spice...

Vinous, April 2020

Fuligni's 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and alluring, pulling me closer to the glass with each swirl, as a mix of ripe black cherry, rosemary, smoke, and moist earth lift from the glass, with sweet florals and a bit...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2020

(95+ points) Fuligni is on a short list of the best wine estates in Montalcino. The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is fragrant and delicate, showing a level of precision and elegance that pushes the limits of this terrific...

Decanter, May 2021

Very rich and layered nose; lots of meaty and game layers, intertwined with wild berries. Impressive palate with juicy fruit flavours, spices, and some leather notes. Quinine and clove to the finish.

Wine Spectator, June 2020

Ripe and polished, delivering plum, black cherry, licorice, tar and leather flavors, backed by a solid structure and revealing fine balance overall. Lacks the complexity of the best 2015s, but impressive and long...

Fuligni is a family-owned estate on the eastern side of Montalcino. The vines, which extend over ten hectares, are primarily located at Cottimelli with altitudes varying from 1,250 to 1,500 feet. Average age of the vines is about twelve years with some dating back more than thirty years. The estate’s four vineyards are planted with Sangiovese, complemented by a small portion of Merlot.

The Fuligni range consists of the regular Brunello, a Brunello Riserva, a Rosso (Ginestreto), and an IGT Toscana made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot.

Fuligni Brunello is the result of carefully selected grapes coming from low yields per hectare. It is not produced in years when the quality of the harvested grapes is not suitable to maintain the high standards of the estate. It is aged for four years, of which approximately two and a half are in wood.

Fuligni’s regular Brunello di Montalcino–with its elegant combination of fruit and spicy aromas–can age, but is designed for early drinking.
