A supple, savory wine with lovely inner-mouth energy and floral lift to its juicy red raspberry and spice flavors. Delicate, delineated and light on its feet but with no shortage of intensity. (90 - 92 points) The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru la Petite Chapelle has a floral, well-defined bouquet with perfumed red cherry and strawberry fruit, crushed rose petals and a touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite cohesive and focused with a fine bead of acidity and a tensile, slightly tinny finish that will disappear by the time of bottling. This is worth investigating.- NM
